Education & Training Programs
The Arkansas Civic Education Program
The Arkansas Civic Education (ACE) Program is the cornerstone of AML’s training and certification initiative. Beginning with the foundational Civilpedia module and extending through a variety of flexible on-demand and live learning opportunities, the program offers comprehensive training in topics that matter most to local leadership. From advanced courses that build upon the Civilpedia foundation to leadership programs, an eight-part grant writing series and more, the ACE Program offers a comprehensive catalog designed to empower Arkansas’ municipal officials and personnel. Participants can customize their learning journey, earn certifications and build expertise to better serve their communities while fostering growth, innovation and excellence in municipal governance.

ACE Program Highlights
Participants begin with Level 1, Civilpedia, which serves as the “general education” of the ACE Program, providing a solid foundation in municipal governance. Level 1 is offered through the ACE Hub for a $50 fee. Once Level 1 is achieved, participants can deepen their knowledge through on-demand and live training opportunities, exploring diverse topics and earning credits toward advanced certification levels. Each on-demand class is available for $20 and live training is included in the registration fee for conferences and conventions.
Level 1: Civilpedia-Certified Provides the most fundamental and baseline information needed to understand municipal government in Arkansas. Level 1 requires 25 credits.
Level 2: ACE-Certified Requires 50 credits of training.
Level 3: ACE-Advanced Requires 75 credits of training.
Level 4: ACE Master Requires 100 credits of training.
Participants are not required to pursue certification by attending training. Credits toward future level certification may be accrued without first receiving previous level certification. Accrued credits will be applied after previous level certification is completed.
ACE SafeTrack
To get started, participants can self-register via the ACE Hub and immediately explore the SafeTrack catalog. AML recommends a strong internet connection and desktop computer for the best learning experience. For additional support, participants can contact Tricia Zello.
The ACE Hub
The ACE Hub is a learning management system that serves as homebase for the League’s online and in-person training opportunities and is accessible 24/7. The ACE Hub is where you’ll track certification credits, access educational materials and more. Registration in the ACE Hub is required for all training and certification program participants.
Online training is registered, purchased and recorded in the ACE Hub. Moderated, in-person training sessions are offered at conventions and conferences. Select in-person trainings will be recorded and made available through the ACE Hub for an additional delivery option. In-person training is registered and recorded in the ACE Hub via an assigned QR code.
